Joining the IBEW and Local 45 is simple. You must be working in IBEW Local 45 jurisdiction and have completed a membership application packet. You will be required to pay an initiation fee upon submission of your packet and it is required that you submit the packet and the fees required within 30 days of working in an IBEW jurisdiction. To obtain an IBEW Local 45 Membership Application packet, please call the union office at 323-851-5515 or contact and shop steward.
Once you've completed the membership process, you will be required to pay dues to the union as long as you are working in an IBEW jurisdiction. If you are no longer employed by a shop under the IBEW jurisdiction, you can request an Honorary Withdrawal Form which suspends your "active" membership in the union.
